Yeah, my car has 170,000 miles on it, and thus I can't justify the extra expense of a ball-bearing turbo. I know spool up is faster, but I know my T-25 makes boost at 2500 rpm, but the car does nothing with it. I don't notice much until over 3000-3500 rpm anyway, but then soon after the boost tapers back and I'm left wanting more. I think a T3/T4 will do fine for me, the cheap price will leave me enough money for the manifold and FMU!! Plus, I'll have my 3" downpipe installed, should get rid of a lot of lag there, too. I figure I'll sink $1000-2000 more into this car and call it quits. Gonna look for something lighter in the future (easier to make lighter cars faster!!).
Question for you: Where'd you get your ECU and does it eliminate the 6000 rpm rev limiter? I'm trying to figure out a way to get past that--thought about trying to hard-wire the fuel pump (for some reason works on some cars...) or something.
