mine was installed without touching the a/c condensor. not only retaining it, but not touching/impacting it at all. straight forward plop in place in front of the condensor installation. only issue i can thing of, once piping is obtained, was the upper radiator hose. i am still tinkering with that one. i had it pushed over initially, but now it is run down below the turbo pipe. however, it still touches other components and i am worried about continued use leading to wearing holes. i'll keep tinkering.
not quite sure about pipe/conections, etc. with money concerns. you already have the ic. i think my cost beyond the ic was not more than $50, if that. but i work only with scanwest and prices are always good there. all piping can be run with stock pieces and turbo boots don't fail (reenforced with twine), so used stuff is great. now shiny new chrome looking stuff (that adds 5 hp or so) will be costly. but this project only costs time, compared to others, imho.
anyway, when ever you get to it, you'll be pleased. saab should have done this stock to begin with...
