my car will be on the dyno this thursday to tune the new wolf ems. i have stock bottom end (other than balanced) and will be pushing my redline to 7000-7200 (hp dependant, meaning i won't push it higher if it doesn't help increase power). i have hot cams and an adjustable cam gear on the exhaust side to help with higher rpm.
fwiw, scanwest rally car was run a few years ago with stock engine components up to around 8k rpm. they had no problem with valve float (as claimed to be an issue by some aftermarket companies), nor did they have a problem with the bottom end. tranny, as usual was the weak link. but, they don't drive 'em like you normally would on the street. so durability can be expected to be a little lower. :)
