BPU-
-For a 9000, I don't think a K & N air filter mod should be on the list. Probably can't hurt, but benefits are highly questionable. If we're talking strictly drop in, and no mods to the mounting location/box, this probably applies to C900 also.
-Change 3" downpipe/exhaust to 2.5" and up.
-Ignition wires, I don't see any benefit other than longevity, if running stock ignition. If running higher voltage aftermarket coil, ok then. Er, well there is the point that my Bougicords were too short regardless, but might be peculiar to my year 9000 for some reason.. :)
-Doesn't the APC solenoid valve mod in some way reduce the effectiveness of the APC system in response to knock? If so, I wouldn't recommend.
BPU+
-AMM adjustment/resistor mod is not necessarily for 24# injectors and LH2.2 cars for smooth idle.
-'Viggen spec' BPV (not BOV!) could be put in all categories, regardless of power upgrades! It's no more expensive than the stock BPV, and far more durable.
-What exactly is the benefit of a piggyback fuel controller install? One would assume this runs a 5th (or 5th-8th) injector? If so, don't see it listed. To me though, this seems one step below full blown aftermarket, not second from bottom of upgrade stages.
-I'd move the AID/recurved distributor to BPU. Highly recommended on 2.0l cars to improve low end response, even if you are only running stock boost.
BPU++
-Seems ok, I have no experience with any of these items except water injection.
APU/APU+
-Ditto, no experience with these items.
-I think people with a C900 can benefit from the external wastegate long before going to APU/APU+, or even to BPU++.
The recommendations list at the bottom looks good, though I'm not sure I like the sounds of the PCV/emissions system removal. As long as you can still pass emissions, I guess, otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.
Now, as to where my car would fit into the whole scheme of things, who knows! I have items from BPU, BPU+, and BPU++, but by no means all of the items in each category. ????
