I don't think the work involved would meet the results you're really looking for IMHO.
I wouldn't be surpised if someone did use the mid-90's chevy pickup lights (my friend has one, so I know exactly what you're referring to), if there might be some difference in performance. Closest thing to ram air you can have. GOing 70pmh... air being sucked directly onto the IC... results are very possible.
It might look a little funny though. I have seen c900's with their driver side headlight removed for track days, to increase air directly onto the IC/air intake. Definatly not an everyday street thing, looks a bit odd, but with the chevy lights, there would still be headlights in there, not a gaping hole. The space between the hood and lights would be too extreme for my tastes. But that's just me & my taste. If you like it, go for it.
Glad to see people like you are coming up with more unconventional ideas for these cars. Whether it works or not, at least you're brainstorming. And that's what we need more of!
