ARRGHH!! Why is my TIMING temp dependent??

I know it isn't supposed to be affected by temp, just boost. When its cold, it makes power like nobody's business. When its warm, I get all the retard all at once. I bent the actuator a little to help advance and hopefully make the power more linear. Works wonderfully for the first 20 mins or so. When it heats up, its back to tortoise!! Anybody else have this problem??
Theory #1: The diaphragm on the actuator is old and becomes more ductile when it gets warm. Therefore less boost leads to more retard after it warms up.
Theory #2: Its just a moody B%#$@!!!
If I do need to replace the actuator/diaphragm assy, where do I get one that hasn't endured 163K in long thermometer climates for 12 years? Preferably brand-spanking new?
MSD 6AL/BTM is on the to do list but I wanna get this resolved first!

K&N, 2.5in Cat Back, self-tweaked APC (delivers 23 psi when its cold!), Magnercors, 7EVs, 20psi BPV, 3bar FPR, Aquamist 1s.
Thanks in Advance!!
