Some drag racers I know have their fuel line sprial through a cannister full of ice water to cool down the fuel. I was sceptical that it would make a power diference since air makes up so much more of the intake charge, but they wouldn't do it if it didn't lower ETs. I wouldn't worry about atomisation, since it's obviously not a problem with fuel and I doubt it would effect water any diferently. The water does make up a fairly small percentage of the fuel charge, so the effect might be neglidgable, I don't know. But since a major reason the water is there is to cool the intake charge it sounds like a good idea to me. It quick and free, so give it a shot when you get your water injection running and let us know how it goes.
