trionic uses an INDUCTIVE sensor that reads a signal off a slotted metal band mounted on the crank. DI/APC uses a HALL EFFECT sensor mounted to the crank pulley. I have been researching this extensively. The fore-mentioned slotted metal band needs to be adapted to the earlier crankshaft and you need a hole in the block to mount the sensor. The way I see it you need to put a big hole in the black and adapt this metal band to the crank and you'd be set.
