wolf ems, 3d, 4.0. $1200-1400 for all necessary hardware to get you running. uses stock sensors and components (aic valve, tps, hall sensor, etc.). can be rigged for multi point ignition and sequential injection but you need to use a crank sensor (like you will with any system as a reference for tdc for #1 is needed). other thing wolf has, as i have found thus far, is impeccable customer service. i have spoke with local distributors as well as australian contacts (via email and phone) and have always felt like i was first on their list of customers. great service. finally, a good selling point in my book, is the system is all electronic. updates to the system, new features, etc. are electronic, can be emailed to you, and get this, are free... it's hard to beat elsewhere. many other companies charge you for each update to their system.
so far i have found that this system has offered the amount of features that almost perfectly matches up with my needs. not too many, and certainly not too little. this system is great for high output running and can be dialed in to offer at least the equivalent of oem street running and drivability. ok, off my soapbox. i'm not affiliated with them, just pleased with my purchase. it was a big decision to dump that much in one stop and i am happy i went this route.
as far as time to get everything rigged up, i started one friday night cutting into the stock wiring harness and the following monday i had it running. since then it has been constant tuning, but i have made quite a few changes. it's hard driving 20 miles each way to work, each day, to ignored the hand controller...:) every day i hop in the car, i'm watching the a/f gauge and making change to fueling and timing. it's getting better and should be nearing the good running spot. but it's all a matter of how much time you put into tuning it. if you go with a few minutes each day, it will take forever. if you spend a couple weekends focused on tuning, you can probably knock it out fairly quick. my wife has prevented me from spending too much time in one shot..:) anyway, hope this helps. it really comes down to what you want and what you are willing to do.
btw, i'll be out there in early november and you are more than welcome to look things over to make a decision for yourself.
