i have done a lot of looking into these. the wolf system is prolly best bang for the buck but perfectpower has some inexpensive ones that offer almost the same capability sans hand controller for 500-800 ( bare cost )
i like the autronic with autotune since full tuning takes less than an hour and a 4 wire wide band will plug right in. 2 grand. have heard some bad vibes on haltech but one lemon does not make a lemon tree so i can't comment in general. DTA in england http://www.dtafast.co.uk makes a nice system for a good price as well. depends on capabilities wanted. AIC can be disacarded and a timing well established to hold idle speed so that will free up a PWM output. in any case you had better be willing to have 2 grand to throw at the project b4 you get nervous...
http://www.efitechnology.com has the nicest around i think. motec ok but not pleased with their allocation compared with others. multi maps is also a nice feature not on wolf but i think that wolf allows rapid reload but not switch selectable.
