That water absolutely must be atomized. I got to see the difference between "mist" and totaly atomization at the George's Imports tent at SOC 02, the difference is huge. You can't see a single droplet, let alone feel it hit your hand. It's a nice smooth coating of water around your hand. Pressure wise, I believe the pressure must be at least 60PSI, at the very least. Otherwise, I don't believe it's possible for the water to atomize, without spending more than you're bargaining for. Nozzle wise, it would be best to get a George's Imports/Aquamist nozzle jet, Brad will tell you what size you need. I use the .7. The injector idea may work. But it will be harder to find the exact size you need, and in quantities of 1 when only 4/6/8 packs are avaialable... which will cost alot too. If you get the jet I was talking about (which I have), it will completely atomize the water, and you can also tap it into the pipe where you had mentioned.
When the injection is needed.. it's mainly used under boost conditions. The higher the boost, the more risk of detonation, the more you need water injection. The Aquamist system is activated by an 8PSI adjustable pressure switch. Even though it will take another 1/2 second for everything to click at 8PSI, that's probably when you should have your system turn on. So in reality you probably need water injection at around 10PSI. Although water injection is used to lower intake/engine/etc temps, that is just a bonus, it is prodominantly used to supress detonation.

Let me know if you have any questions on my setup, and if you want some real data, talk to Brad here on the board (owner of George's Imports.. an Aquamist distributor). He is super smart and will make your head spin with all the stuff he knows.

Good luck!
