...but there is no going around using the Aquamist water injection jet. Especially not at the price (I paid something like £9 UK, not including tax and P&P, several years ago). As for the pump, you're looking at a pressure differential between water injecton jet and the boost pressure it has to work against of 3 bar/45 psi, preferably 4 bar/60 psi. You can either use a pump that puts out 60+ psi on your chosen water injection nozzle size (typically 0.6 - 1.0 mm) or pressurize the water tank with mainfold pressure (be sure to insert a one way valve or your engine will suck water out of the tank on vacuum - not good) when using a marginal pump (still have to measure -someone knows of a good, inexpensive water pressure gauge? - but I think a washer bottle pump of a car with headlamp pressure wash would work in that case).
Another option would be injecting water before the turbo, in which case atomization and pressure issues don't apply, as the turbo compressor blades will take care of that. This is how the factory water injection kit for B-engined 99/900T's worked. Ultimately, it will corrode and damage the compressor wheel, so I would only revert to this method when running an old car with a 'disposable' turbo that can and will be replaced with another cheap second hand unit when the time comes. Oh, and this method is incompatible with the use of an intercooler, as most of the water droplets will condense in the IC.
But if I had a pre-intercooled 99/900T and were on a tight budget, why not? After all, it _is_ a factory approved mod...
Good luck,
Eric
