The guy is crazy! Any turbocharged car would benefit with a 3 inch exhaust. If having a restrictive exhaust system adds torque..you'd see race cars with 2 inch exhaust systems. The turbo itself produces backpressure so you'll never have a problem with "Too little backpressure". Actually, backpressure caused by turbo can be 2 times boost pressure! The benefit of 3 inch comes in because it maximizes the differential pressure before and after the turbo turbine. I'd love to have a 3 inch exhaust on my spg. I believe saab claims something like 15 hp for their sporty exhaust and it isn't 3 inch.
