than tweaking the standard black box. I happen to have the tweaked red box from Group 6 (now spg9) and have further tweaked it myself. Pretty much the same results as with a stock black box.
Simple tweaking consists of taking the box apart and locating the 3 labeled potentiometers. Turn the "f" potentiometer clockwise until that the screw slot is at 9/3 o'clock or horizontal. Then bump up the "p" pot clockwise a little at a time ( to about 5/11 oclock) and see how you like it. There are numerous posts on adding resistors to the circuitry, but the pot twiwting will get you most of the way there. Go to a 3.0 fuel pressure regulator(from non-turbo 900) or a rising rate fpr$$$.
It is always best to set base boost to between 5-6 psi with a calibrated boost gauge by shortening the wastegate control rod. Just unplug APC solenoid to limit to base boost. The wastegate actuator spring gets tired over time and most older 900's are running between 3-4psi base boost. This will make a dramatic improvement to spool up and also improve max boost.
To go much over 14 on a 91, you will have to fool the ECU by adding a resistor in the orange(?) wire from the AMM and go up to 30lb injectors. The older models had the overboost switch that could be bypassed.
