Although I have no information to give you, I have an opinion to give. The c900 drivetrain is a big part of the reason I like the car. It's the road less traveled...all backwards and sideways for a front wheel drive car.
Why does everyone want to put a 350 into every imaginable car? I remember when i was into vintage volkswagons and there were guys cramming 350's in those (same deal, air cooled VW engines are awesome and have tuning potential).

I understand there is a large performance aftermarket for the smallblock chevy's but I can't imagine how much you would mess up the dynamics of the saab. All the weight up front not to mention RWD. It would most likely be a drag car (like the pictures I have seen of c900 V8's)

I hope the best for you but If you want a unique V8 powered car I would recommend stuffing a Ford V8 into a Merkur XR4Ti. It's RWD, has 4 wheel independent suspension and V8 conversions are relatively easy (i.e. no cutting and welding to fit, just new motor mounts) with that car even though the 2.3 Turbo motor is awesome. I bet if you do decide to do the V8 saab, it will have a chevy bowtie in the grill and on the trunk. blecchh
