I had a fun experience with an M3 of unknown vintage (approx. '96, I would say.) A shiny silver very stock looking M3 came quickly into my rearview on I-95 just as I entered the twisty part through Richmond (northbound). I was in the far left lane, and when the car in front of me got over, I pushed the pedal to the floor in my '85 pseudo-SPG. The M3 quickly followed, but could not get around me. We did this again two more times, accelerating from about 65 mph up to over 120 all three times. He had open lanes to the right but could not even approach the point of passing me. I stayed in 5th all 3 times, and had both windows all the way down (no AC). He did not get off at the King's Dominion exit, as I hoped he would. By the way, after the 3rd and final acceleration run, we caught some traffic, and I let him by. He did not look too happy. One mile later we passed a VA state trooper on the right shoulder! Phew!
