camber vs. Torque steer...

Camber Steer:
Wide rims/tires will make camber steering worse. What's happening is that the wider the rims -- or the further away from the centerline of the tire that the edge of the tire is when it hits the wall of a road rut, the camber will pull up the slope of that run -- what you feel is the steering wheel being pulled one way or the other.
Fix: either live with it, or get a narrower wheel/tire combo. (You will lose traction on acceleration however)
Torque steering:
Much more complex and only really experienced with a FWD car such as our Saabs. What truly make this worse is different length drive shafts to each side of the car. Saab however fixed that particular issue by providing an intermediate shaft going to the right side of the car. The old 9-3/New Gen 900 however has other issues working against it. Namely a very thin firewall which tends to flex, and the steering rack bracket which has a rubber gromet. Between that and the firewall (which the bracket is attached to...) the steering geometry changes under heavy lateral or acceleration loads.
Fix: Get a RWD car (kidding of course) or the Viggen Rescue Kit (or equivalent). The kit replaces the steering rack bracket for a billet aluminum unit; a brace between that bracket and the right wheel well to help stiffen the firewall/steering rack; a lower subframe brace bar which keeps the lower suspension bit rigid. Finally Polyurethane bushings to help stiffen the rest up.
Hope that helps.
