2000+ production uses the T7 ECU. It has a fly by wire throttle and when it sees pressures higher than it wants, it will close the throttle. It has always been stated that you can't increase peak power with a MBC on a T7.
Now you can install in series and get less boost lag, but that is about it. So you have to keep the MBC setting low enough go get less boost lag, but avoid fighting with the ECU. You can get CELs that way too.
Adjust your MBC down until the system does not fight your changes. You will probably end up with little or no increased peak pressure. Note that the boost indicator in a T7 is more proportional to engine torque or the MAF signal, not pressure. You have a boost guage? The T7 boosts to variable pressures, so in hot weather the boost pressure can be higher and in the winter it can be lower.
I would not adjust the WG linkage, your MBC is effectively doing whatever that could do.
