I got the grey color but wish now I'd gotten silver. I had wanted to avoid the "chrome" look. The grey tends to lighten up and look more flat after heating. I had also gotten in intake manifold done in grey, and this has remained a little darker and more shiny. Shoulda gotten silver.

It is definitely cooler around the exhaust manifold. It used to be that I could feel the radiant heat from around the front of the engine immediately after driving the car, but it's not nearly as hot now. I haven't measured underhood temps.

I think there's nothing wrong with allowing heat loss from your downpipe. As exhaust gases cool, their pressure decreases, which is exactly what you want. Jet Hot, on their website, talks mainly about underhood temps, but in turbo applications, I agree that you want to keep the exhaust hot until it reaches the turbo. Then you want a good pressure drop across the turbo.

I think it cost me about $115 for the exhaust manifold. Call Jet hot and they will give you an order number. You then mail the manifold yourself, and return shipping is included in the price they'll quote you. I believe it took about 3 weeks, including shipping. Work quality was good, with no blocking of bolt holes or extra material that needed to be trimmed off.
