You had the cone filter IN the engine bay??? No wonder you didn't like it. You would definately be sucking more hot air from the engine. :( With the Trionic system you would end up loosing more power from the warm air. I got a CAI (Cold-Air-Intake) that keeps the filter in the fender, where it grabs COLD air not hot engine bay air. It seems to help in reponsiveness as well as the power at the top of the RPM range. I also have a '99 9-5 SE. It cost less than $70 and gives you the most bang from the buck!
