For me personally, this is not about racing. I just want to enjoy the best possible dynamic behaviour at all times without having to bother with removing stuff - you never know beforehand when you are going to encounter te perfect (long, winding, empty...) road for a spirited drive...
I imagine it will be nice to be able to turn up at a track day without having to care about leaving parcel shelves, stereo equipment, etc. unattended somewhere in the paddock, too.
That's why I ditched the subwoofer altogether (even the 'lightweight' part-fibreglass center console construction was too heavy for me ;) ) in favour of fibreglass kickpanel builds with a larger internal volume and extremely high performance 6.5" low/midrange drivers (Görlich 160 VK).
I don't have a parcel shelf anymore, anyways...
Would love something comparable to Solo II/autocross emerging here, though - but alas, European parking lots are not big enough I think...
