The LH ECU does not actively compensate for higher altitude because is has no way to read atmospheric pressure, unlike a trionic ECU which would and adjust fuel/timing maps accordingly based on this new reading.
I have been in many saabs at high altitude, above 10,000 feet and with the proper adjustments a stock 900t will not run out of steam.
Get what im sayin?
Turbo cars CAN compensate enough for higher altitudes I was not very clear in my first message, you dont really need more boost in numbers but in order to get the same boost at a higher altitude the turbo will have to spin faster i.e. closing the wastegate more by adjusting the actuator or tuning the APC or some other sort of boost control. So in effect to get 18psi at 20,000 feet you will have to set it up for more boost at lower altitude.
