DIY Short Shifter spacer... quick Q's

Hey guys,
I'm here at school another two days so I'm hoping for some quick responses, as I'll need to use the shop to do the work.
On Ubipa's website, I'm reading on how to make the DIY short shifter for the non90+ versions.
Here's what it says you need....
0.5" or 0.75" thick spacer (3"ODx2"ID Aluminum Tube)
0.5" or 0.75" thick spacer (2"OD, 3/8-1/2" thick wall Aluminum Tube)
(3) 5mm- 0.8 x 35-40mm machine bolts (Home Depot)
Graphite Grease or your favorite shifting grease
The instructions/procedures don't explain it so clearly. Do I need BOTH of those aluminum spacers? Or do I only need one? If I need two, can they both be .5", .75", or can one be .5" and the other be .75"?
I will be making the spacer(s) out of a 3" round aluminum stock bar.
Thanks for the help guys, hopefully I can tackle this before the shop closes down and I need to go back to PA for winter break.
take care,
Taylor
