correlation between mass air and map?

i have seen a few maps that jak posted for og900 fueling. those 3-d maps are based on mas air information and rpm to determine fueling. when reviewing those maps against my fuel maps for my ecu (wolf ems) i notice some anomolies in the stock maps that are not present in my maps (mine is based on map sensor input). as i have not gone through each individual cell in my maps, i wonder if some of the anomolies should be in my map, or if the difference between the mass air and map accounts for this.

reason would tell me that the two are not directly related. for example, under light load, the engine rpm can be increased. in doing so, the manifold pressure will remain constant, but the mass air will increase (higher rpm will move more air). therefore tracking the movement through the map vs. mass air maps will be different.

should i completely ignore the stock mass air maps as they are not related at all? or are there portions i should be able to reference?

any thoughts?
