stiffen up the panels with aluminium channel pop riveted where needed.you can use some aircraft type quick release hardware to hold it in place."dzus" fasteners or the ones saab uses, there almost the same.you can also sandwich foam between the fiber glass to make it thicker and or stiffer.i laminated my rear panel with carbon fiber, you could do that with the fiberglass.but the other posters are right, just the epoxy resin you need ,a gallon at least, will cost about 50.00.a 6'x3'piece of carbon fiber cost me about 80.00.but i,m hooked on the carbon now,i invested in a vacuum pump and am also going to make some tubing using wax molds that melt at low temps.you laminate the wax form, let dry then boil it.try some aircraft supply stores or boat supply if you do go carbon, much cheaper them mcmaster for that type of stuff.oh,and if you really want to get rid of weight pull the entire a/c system.
