honestly I think that might be overdooing it a bit Posted by jak [Email] (#195) [Profile/Gallery] (more from jak) on Wed, 2 Jun 2004 11:35:03 In Reply to: no probs:-) more re: WI and Brad's mechanical advnc, steveC, Wed, 2 Jun 2004 09:12:50 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
with that electronic timing controll you have just play with it to where you have an initial timing of say 20BTDC & when the throttle is cracked you get another 10 degrees so say 25-30BTDC no boost open throttle retarding to like 15-18 BTDC & run like 18 LBS boost
brad has allot of cool toys for monitoring things & even for a smart DIYer tuning & especially experimenting heavily with timing & fueling isent for the faint of heart or someone without some good datalogging equipment anyway
honestly & brad may dis agree on this spike & fallback boost ( excessive boost taper) is not the best way to set up a car as the initial spike heats things & than as RPMs increase & combustion chamber temps increase pre ignition is more likeley even with watter its not the best idea all things in moderation its a balance between flow boost fuel timing & watter
in a perfect world boost would go up to the desired level & stay there the rest would be done with watter fuel & timing
but a bit of taper isent so bad my car has it
I would just say dont go overboard with it
I think you can get killer results with what you have if you play with it a bit
take care
