the mitsus are all put together with snap rings so the compressor housing is heald to the backplate with a smapring whereas the garret is bolted on with those holder thingies :-)
I personlay wouldent come on the perf BB & say the mitsu is out dated many folx are making the big clidesdales (in sweden even) with those turbos I prefer the garret myself after building a few turbos the garret seems a lil more heavy duty but the lightness of the mitsu rotating ASSY is what contributes to its quick spooledness :-)(obviously making stuff up)
so some who arent so concerned with the clidesdales but want quick throttle response for city trafic & whatnot may love the mitsu whereas a guy like me that bounces his car off the rev limit as a shift indicator dosent need a quick spooling turbo so a garret with wider range of exhaust housings (I believe?) & other qualitys lending themselves niceley to longwindedness (like me) :-) may want a garret
so to each their own
we all have diferent styles of driving & therefor pick diferent equipment that works for us
