"I was thinking aluminum would be the best, because of heat dissipation."
This does not make sense. Your engine bay is hotter than your intake charge (well, it should be anyway), so you will be "dissipating" heat from the engine bay to the intake air. Truthfully, this is rather inconsequential as the air spends so little time in the intake pipe anyway. The material you chose should be well insulated, either due to its own properties, or by you aiding them with a wrap of some kind. Placement of the inlet should be as close to the outside air as is prudent. Just remember that the outside air could also be outside water.
If you drive an NA car, your time is better spent determining how to install a turbo. Substantial NA performance gains are expensive and complicated on such a small displacement engine. You will spend twice the money and effort to get the same power levels as simply installing a low-pressure setup from a corresponding turbo car.
Best of luck,
Andy
