HE FIXED MY CAR!!! and i mean REALLY fixed it!
It's been a while since anyone has heard from me on here, because i've been busy as all heck as of late.
One of the reasons i've been MIA from the board, is of course my trip to JAK's in North Caronia!
Of course, those of you who really know me, know that i live in UPSTATE NY, so that was no small trip!
I just have to say, right off the bat, it was 100% totally worth it!
Let me give you an idea of the type of work i've done to my car... for those of you who don't know...
I've put over $15,000 in parts and labor in it over the last 5 years, and i've been to SEVEN professional shops, including THREE saab dealerships for labor across THREE STATES, new york, florida, and PA...
I've got to say, the quality of work from everyone else i've ever been to doesn't even BEGIN TO COMPARE with my experience at Jak's.
I really mean that. Thank you JAK! ;)
I've paid upwards of $80 for hourly labor before, at a saab dealership... and even with master mechanics on staff, and every wiring diagram and part locater on hand, they *STILL* were pretty clueless about A LOT of things... WAY too many things for my comfort.
In my opinion, when you pay someone hourly labor, you are paying for their KNOWLEDGE and their EXPERIENCE... and when it comes to saab performance, Jak KNOWS ALL, and he is EXPERIENCED too! :)
Anyone who is interested in having any work done should definately consider making the drive from wherever they are to his shop... for all their performance needs.
He has a beautiful home and shop, and it's very easy to find <with the proper directions! MAPQEST SUCKS! ;)> And if you can stomach it, he'll take you for a ride in his very own 900... which is insane, we'll just leave it at that!
So for those of you planning on having work done on your saab, make sure jak's shop is included in those plans.
Oh, by the way, for those of you wondering what the deal was with my car...my knock sensor was "dirty", and my performance chips were messed up, and he worked like crazy to get a new performance set made. We swapped out my cams with a more stock like set, bolted on a 3.0 bar fpr,
and the end result is just amazing... I'm boosting to 20 psi, the car is MUCH more responsive... and i'm VERY happy.
The LAST shop i went to a month before jak's, that shall remain name-less, said this, and i QUOTE "your car is fine, there is nothing wrong with it, just drive it and enjoy it"
It was kind of hard to enjoy when it SUCKED...
Good thing i didn't give up then... and i went to jak's... because NOW
my car is SNOTTY ... and we'll all see just how snotty is is when i get it dyno'ed again soon.
