a lot!
I'm not sure I'm really after 300plus hp. I would not be unhappy, I'm just saying it's not all about the horsepower. (Please don't shoot me)
I things a little practical, like my pre-turbo oil cooler I think this will add some life to the old thing. I understand that I don't have the best turbo, but know that this one can carry a ton of power. I boost somewhere between 15 and 19 psi. I say about because I have just installed my 3 inch down pipe and have not re-tuned since. If you look at my profile, I have 2 pictures that show 2 very good reasons why. Nonetheless I have no idea what my current hp is. I cannot find a wheel dyno here in OKC.
"What am I looking to get out of Inga?" Well I'd like a nice neck snap every time I hit the boost. I don't want a lot of spiking and worrying about the head blowing on my way to Black MT.
Back in the day I always thought I had good off the line speed. That's where I'd take my buddy in his 79 trans-Am. And I lost to a pick-up on the highway with my girlfriend (at the time) in the car next to me. That was before I learned of this site and the many many mods you could do to this car. I've had her for over 10 yrs. The 1st 9yrs I've gone threw 2 eng and 2 trannys. None at the same time of course. Basically I almost drove her into the ground. knock on wood. The turbo is the only thing I have not screwed up. (yet) I always stop and let her cool down first. What I call the 2 min drill.
Gary, your saying I should just have what got ported and cleaned? That's way to simple. I have on my floor. 2 complete eng/tranny and clutches. Ones from another 85 and the other from an 87. I was going to take one of the heads start working on it. Once I have here all put together I'd just swap'em out. Both are B202. Are the 87 different? The new intake that I just powder coated is from the 85. For a kinda silly reason. The AIC and PVC connection are brass and hard piped on. The old rubber grommet kept blowing out. Scaring the crap out of me every time!
This is hard typing with 1 hand!
