I had the Yokohama AVS es100 on my classic 900 TC, they were the best tire I have owned on that car. And they were so cheap for what I got out of them! They were predictable and had great grip with low noise. They also never hydroplaned in heavy rain, amazing! I could drive very fast in rain with confidence. However, they rode a bit harshly, probalby due to the very stiff sidewalls! very stiff at 33 psi... Now, keep in mind that they are NOT an ultra-high performance summer only auto-crossing type tire. If you want THAT type of tire look elsewhere. And if you are running an ultra high performance tire, you'd probably want a 50 series tire anyway for better cornering! But the yokohamas AVS es100 did last quite longer than one of those ultra-high performance summer only track tires. I had Michelin pilots on before, that lasted only 10K miles! I had the Yokos in the popular 205-50/16" mounted on the popular 16" super Aero rims from an Aero 9000! If you got them in a 55 series tire, all else the same, they might not be as harsh a ride... These tire sizes, 50 series and 55 series both fit on 5.5 or 6.0 width 16" rims.

Alot of people put intrax springs and Koni adjustable shocks on their classic 900 turbos. But the drop with these springs is 40mm. You might NOT, probably not, be able to put a 55 series tires on then, they'll most likely rub. You'll be forced to go with a 50 series tire then, keep it in mind. Abbottracing makes a spring for the classic 900 turbos that is specifically designed for those running 16" rims and drops the car only 10mm for a better fit. Check them out. You will more likely be able to run a 55 series tire then using the Abbott racing 100mm springs. BUT, you have to specify you want THOSE springs, because they also make a spring set with a 40mm drop also just like Intrax does!
