I've experienced that momentary rough spot with my '93 turbo also. I think it has to do with the poor fuel mapping the stock fuel chip offers. It might also have to do with the fuel cut out situation that 2.4LH systems have. I've been lucky to get away with as much boost as I want w/out using the resistor wire in the AMM trick! I can get the APC all the way to the end of the red if I wanted with enough engine timing retard. The more fuel I added to my engine, the more pronounced was that momentary lag between the yellow and red that you mentioned on the APC. I've got 24# injectors and a rising rate fuel pressure regulator that sits inline with the stock 2.5 bar fixed regulator. This way on vacuum, I'm at 2.5 bar, and upon acceleration the rising rate regulator kicks in. I tell you this, because I have all the fuel I need. And, I can dial in more fuel, much more fuel even, with the rising rate's micro adjustment!!! I used to think that the more fuel the better, but I was just drowning my engine and made it sluggish, with rough spots on acceleration. I have the typical upgraded APC, k+N airfilter, I even have an MSD boost timing master and a front mount intercooler and I still have all the fuel I need. So I'd say, unless you have at least that plus a 2.1 head and a 3" downpipe to tailpipe exhaust system, you have way too much fuel. I bought the fuel chip from Swedish Dynamics also just to see, but it enriched my fuel so much with the 24# injectors and Rising rate, it was less than helpfull. I think the fuel chip is best used with stock fuel injecots alone, and maybe, just maybe a 2.8 or 3 bar fixed regulator. You definitely don't need 30# injectors AND rising rate, and fuel chip all together unless you have a high hp car.
