I am an analog design engineer and couldn't begin to use that. I am curious what you would use it for.
Problems:
1. Very poor input range control. It seems that they use a potentiometer as an input attenuator. Believe me, you want to be able to see 20V through 0.02V full-scale in practice. The A/D converter probably has a 0-2V input span with fairly low input impedance-it needs a vertical preamp and attenuator.
2. 1msample/second? Puh-leeze. Give me 100Msample/second minimum. Real minimum.
3. No probing system. Standard 'scopes have 50ohm (not general purpose) or 1Mohm input impedances. This high input impedance is essential to not upset circuits being probed. Even better, a 10Mhohm probe system is also standard, and this makes the input highly non-loading and utterly resistant to damage. You can even get 100Mohm high-voltage probes for looking at spark voltages directly.
Rather than be completely negative, let me comment that there are lots of used 'scopes available. If you just want an instrument, the analog 'scopes are at all-time low prices. Used digital 'scopes with various computer I/O's are also becoming cheap.
Have fun whichever way you go.
