So what can I expect?

Following the tree skiing incident in my older red 900T (RIP) - we picked up a fairly nice 89 900 base model on ebay of all things and swapped the turbo 5 speed into it. I miss the sunroof =( Regardless, I've since been driving it around with the older standard springs and shocks which I don't think have ever been replaced... We ran out of time to do anything else to the car so it was more or less skipped at that point in time. The suspension is absolutely shot - shocks hard as rocks and springs are letting the body roll an incredible amount.

I'm considering throwing on a set of intrax / koni in a few weeks along with some good rubber on 15 x 6 wheels and an alignment in a few weeks once I return back home from the university. Tie rod ends and bushings were all taken off the older car and swapped to the newer car so they're actually fairly new.

My question... what sort of transformation can I reasonably expect from the saab with this work done to it? I recently picked up some SPG wheels for my father's 900T and while driving back noticed an SCCA Solo II event on going on as I drove past. Curiosity got the better of me and with a U turn I went back to observe. I ended up meeting some great people in the end and had the chance to ride along in an older but prepped FB RX7 as well as a new Evo VIII.

The saab isn't the most ideal autocross beast as it stands - but would it be unreasonable to expect handling similar to what I experienced out there on that course? I've been in quick straight line cars before such as a 69 hemi roadrunner - but never anything this fast on a twisty course. My mind was absolutely blown. Where I figured we would slide off the track - both cars just kept on pulling right through.

How capable is the Saab in comparison? With the suspension work - what can I reasonably expect? I'm getting tired of my Saab performing in a buick-like fashion.

Thanks in advance
-K
