Front Wheel Drive Horsepower Loss

Terry posted a response that had me thinking this morning in regard to horsepower loss. I had a dyno /tuner tell me that he figures about a 70 to 80 horse loss with front wheel drive. The response I got back on the Board was an estimate of 20-22% for front wheel drive. The way I figure, the more horsepower you make, the greater a 20-22% loss becomes. I agree that 70 to 80 hp sounds like a lot. However, you factor in an air conditioner and front wheel drive and that can add up. An engine producing 200hp at the flywheel would be approximately 44 hp loss. A car producing 300 hp at the flywheel is loseing 66hp at the tires. Does anyone know how this calculation loss equates to more hp and what the true hp loss is?
