Thanks - I totally get what you are saying. Did you ever hear that rule of thumb about not being able to run a peak pressure more than twice the opening pressure of the WG? I think that is because with a weaker spring, you get to a point where the exhaust gas pressure pushes the wastegate open from the inside. Hopefully that makes sense.

However, if I go for a 5-10psi, then I should be able to set the correct opening pressure (i.e. base boost) of 6psi if I ever want to go back to APC control, and since as you say with an MBC the opening pressure of the WGA is not critical, I should be able to wind it up to 8 or 9 psi which will hopefully not be too stiff to allow good control, but would be stiff enough to hold a peak of about 18psi.

Good idea about getting more than one spring though.
