the idea behind shotpeaning is that you are creating negative stress on the surface of the gear
in the most basic of terms a stock gear with 0 stress will start to tear at X pressure & if you have added 10% negative stress by shotpeaning it takes 10% more external force to start the tear this is inustry wide knowledge
the kryotreating process I have less understanding of & mabey faith in allthough the added benifits are documented by many people
