My best car buddy has a 95 968. Fantastic car. I've driven it atseveral autocross meets and two track events all with race tires.
I have a Saab 9000 Aero 1995 that has most of the Abbott racing mods,ECU, Exaust, Quaife LSD
Bilstein and Koni shocks also 9" road racing slicks.
The Saab is considerable faster than the 968 in almost all situations and is a true all season vehicle and serious equipment and gear hauler.
I'm Not putting down the 968 at all, the 6 speed gearbox is the best matched box to car that I have ever driven, oh by the way I also have a 99 BMW M Coupe. I would take the porche chasi and gearbox, Saab engine, M Coupe body and front wheel drive if somebody made it. If the viggen had some decent gear ratios I would consider it as a starting point, it is better than the 9000 inthis reguard but nothing like the box in the 968 or even the m Coupe.
final note, I bought a WRX, wating delivery about 1 month. It isn't gooing to be a Saab or a porsche but I hope to have some fun with it.
Gary
