I tried mobil 1, amsoil, BG syncroshift & a few other synthetic motor/trans oils & they all SUCK compared to MTL! The BG product I felt lasted the longest however still nothing like MTL or MT-90!
They are to slick & when the temps get cold the syncro's did not like it. I also couldn't get more then 10K miles out of a trans with synthetic motor oil vs 50K++ with redline & the car with the redline did several track events!!!
To slick of a oil is a BAD thing for a C900 trans however great for the engine!
You also have a non turbo so the oil temps are a LOT lower then what our turbo cars develop as well as the load the gears & pinion take. We never changed the oil in our 86 900s & the factory trans let loose at 130K miles & that was with 2 boys (brother & myslef) learning to drive on it from the day we purchased the car then driving it through highschool & college. Presently 250K on the car & the oil is whatever motor oil the show threw in it.
For my SPG's, redline only :)
