Rotors for 9000CSE
Posted by Walter L. Cronin (more from Walter L. Cronin) on Wed, 31 May 2000 09:00:23
Hi all I need some advice on rotors for my 9000CSE. The front rotors evidently were turned before I bought the car last September. Now I need to replace them. My question is should I consider 'slotted' rotors. Any recommendations for sources, etc. Perhaps, I should just use standard SAAB rotors, but I'm willing to spend a bit more to get better performance and maybe longer life out of the new rotors. Listers: SCAR is 89 900 Turbo. Steering has become 'unsmooth in spots'. Local wrench whom I trust indicates it is probably the steering coupler. Any experience with locating a rebuilt or reman coupler and steering rack and rough idea of cost??? They want $320 for the coupler alone which seems like interestate robbery. 1)Cost for the coupler and rack separately. 2)Suppliers of remanned units.
Many thanks.
