Hey Scott  :-)

Sounds like the part you broke isn't the Idle Control, but the Crankcase
Ventilation Valve. Over time with exposure to heat and oil the rubber
grommet gets hard and the plastic valve gets brittle. Order a new
rubber grommet and the valve.
As for getting it out you need to be careful not to drop bits into the
valve cover. I would grab the edge with needle nose pliers and use a
small blade (exacto knife) and slice all the way through both bits and
then try to pull it out. And remember don't drop anything in there.

As for the AIC valve, I will leave it up to someone else who knows your
model year better to tell you where it is. Suffice to say mine is on
the end of a hose that is connected to the intake manifold AHEAD of the
throttle plate. Also the AIC is not always the cause of poor idle.
