I don't know if I'm much help, but my '86 900 8-v had similar problems. While on warranty, the dealer & tech experts looked at various components and never did get it to start any better when warm. Started like a charm after sitting overnight or at 20 below, though! The most promising thing they did, which would last almost a week before going back to the old problem, was to replace the O2 sensor. Best of luck. Mike in Anchorage
