The salesman ended up saying 'I will do a great price on
any accessories you want to buy now or later'. He
was actually telling the truth!

Yes.

You need to be comfortable with removing the side trim (pretty easy)
and using a Stanley knife or Dremel to cut a hole for the connector
in the plastic backing to the panel. And you drill four mounting
holes.

The tough bit is you then need to take it to the dealer to get it
'married' to the car with the Saab ScanTool. It won't work
until you do. The tech at my dealer did it for free, took
about 5 minutes. I was lucky he was standing in the service
dept as the service adviser was fobbing me off.....
