Why should I have to go to the dealer?  I have had a Subaru for 9 
years and 104k miles and I have never been to the dealer.  I do all 
my own maintenance and use a local mechanic for state 
inspection.  OTOH, having a good manual and being able to read is 
key for maintaining a car.

I have been back to the purchase dealer with my Chevy and Dodge 
and got less than good treatment.  

My favorite dealer will be the one that gives me the best price on 
the car and accessories I want.  They also have to talk straight.
