The hood of my brand new car is trashed!

I've had this car six weeks. I've not washed it yet because I was paranoid about the new paint job. Saturday morning I noticed scratches all along the left half of the hood. There are a few sratches that look like someone keyed the hood. You can feel the scratch and there's white showing.
What's weird though is the rest. There's an 8" or so scratch along the ridge that looks like it was done with a wire brush or something. It doesn't appear to reach the surface. There's also pronounced swirling on that side of the hood.
The key scratches might be explained from parking on the street, but the other things make me wonder if there's a problem with the paint job itself.
I'm going to see the dealer tomorrow, but I'm wondering if anyone else had this experience. I plan to file an insurance claim if the dealer disclaims any liability.
