Per the great advice of Dean and others, I took the 2 hrs, and $15 dollars in tools and materials and ported my TB Transition Casting. I'm really happy with the changes it's made--I truly believe it has made a good improvement in responsiveness and smoothness.
Thanks guys!
However, I noticed the inlet pipe doesn't mate well with the TBTC--the end of it has 1/16" clearance on one side and 1/4" on the other from the TBTC orifice. This was after loosening up the inlet pipe clamps, including the bolt where it attaches to the engine, and "coaxing" it over a far as it would go. Is this normal? Does the rubber sleeve between the TBTC and inlet pipe serve to properly interface the two ends? It just seems that the air would flow thru better if they lined up perfectly.
Your advice is appreciated!
e Obviously, this was present prior to removal of the TBTC
