#1) Alternative merchandicing is illegal for the dealer to keep. Saab financial will not fund the deal if the dealer has not applied it to the cap. #2) trade in's are valued at auction price. The dealer has to recondition the car. How would a business survive... any business... buying their product for retail to then sell it for retail? Hmmmm ok.... #3) The profit margin on a typical Saab, especially if it is a Subvented factory incentive...which we know all saabs are is ruffly $300. And by the way.... the $135 for prep? Dealers pay it in the invoice, to the bank long before the car actually arrives from port, not keep it. So it would only make sense to not lose another $100 that they already paid once. It's part of the customers spending. And finally. 3% hold back on a $40,000 car is approx $1200. It is paid to the dealer in quarters way after the car is sold... it's for flooring. Not customer money. Please spread the knowledge...... the dealers are not ok. Sales dept rarely turns a profit. It's usually service that keeps the doors open. Stop trying to steal. Try to educate yourself as to how this business really operates. One more thing... if Kelly Blue book was a real person.... he would be out of business. It's a guide. Not one person I know of has ever traded in their car to kelly. No one is complaining that car auctions are charging to much for their cars. If someone thinks it undervalued....learn Galves. It is what it is worth.... auction, not retail for retail.
