I've combed the boards and haven't figured this one out. Just picked up an 06 Aero SC that did not include the factory roof rails option. On each side of the roof are plastic inserts hiding mounting locations. The text descriptions at saab usa on the accessory pages don't seem right to me.
I think I would have preferred to buy the car with the roof rails (running front to back), but I went with the available vehicle. Can these be installed, preferably DIY? Photos of the Rail Option appear to have 3 fastening points each side. I've found a couple sites with 2 points each side.
If rails are not possible and/or economical I may consider the racks (two pieces, oriented left to right). If I use the racks, can they be removed and reinstalled on occassion? Not frequently, but ocassionally. The racks don't look as clean as the rails IMO.
Dealer quoted $900 installed, but I'm not sure what product they quoted. Seems high at any rate. Anyone with experience? Part numbers and supplier sites are appreciated.
