We purchased my wife's 9-3 Aero exactly one year ago and after a couple of months, the same thing happened with the door locks. They'd pop up while driving and a message came on the SID that read "Lock System Failure..See Saab Dealer." They reset the system, but the issue arose again a couple of weeks later. Then they replaced the body control module twice. Then the interior lights (overhead & footwells) wouldn't come on with the doors open, but the lower door rocker panels light would illuminate.....however, I could manually turn the interior lights on via the roof console switch. They replaced various multi-plug connectors in the wiring harness that feeds the accessories and when it happened again, they eliminated those multi-plug connectors and hard-wired them to hopefully eliminate resistance they were measuring in wires from one side of various plugs to the other. Needless to say, all of these fixes didn't last. Just recently, and on the advice of factory reps, they replaced the ENTIRE main body wiring harness. I saw the car during the process......no dashboard or steering wheel, no console, no carpeting, seats, door panels, headliner, parcel shelf, etc. My wife didn't even want the car back!!! Well, I've had it back for a month and everything electrically seems OK at this point. There are a couple of rattles that the dealer wants to address up in the roof area, but I've always had a very good relationship with them, so I'm not worried. Their theory was that somewhere in that wiring harness was a crimped wire or a nicked piece of insulation that was causing the wire to ground out. If you'd ever see this harness out of the car you'd see that it would have been next to impossible to figure out which wire was causing the problem and where it was damaged. I hope your issue doesn't get this involved. As a side-note, the 9-5 Aero they gave us for a loaner for 2 weeks was so nice that we considered trading the 9-3, but when my wife got her car back, she liked the quicker handling and looks of the 9-3. GOOD LUCK!
