I got the same letter yesterday and was stunned.
My first Saab in 1997 was from Bell Saab, then they closed.
In 2000 and 2003, my 9-3's came from JMK, about 35-40 minutes from my home on Staten Island. All was fine.
Then, it was time for Saab number 4 and I wanted a SportCombi with various bells and whistles but NO kidney jarring sport suspension and low profile tires that were made for a raceway not NYC streets. When I went to JMK the salesperson, who to this day I still hope has never made a single sale since or ever will again, simply refused to lease anything to me but what they had or would get into stock. If I wasn't so stunned by his horrendous, arrogant, snotty, miserable attitude, I would have flipped his desk over.
I sent JMK a long email and they asked me to come back and they would be happy to order a car to my specifications. Too late... by the time they got back to me, I had gone to Paul Miller and got fantastic service, a good price and the car I wanted- exactly when promised.
Service there also was excellent. So for me, this is not good either.
I am not looking forward to going back to JMK in 2009 when this lease is up. Truth is, I would really like a hybrid for my next car and something who's monthly payment is less than what a Saab generally demands.
Hopefully, there will be a hybrid Saab by May '09...otherwise, I maybe switching brands altogether...especially now with having to go back to a dealer that can treat repeat customers like crap...it might be an easier move than I at first thought.
